In Person Meeting January 5, 2017

Hello to the Members and Friends of Salt Lake Crossroads Amateur Radio Club!

You are all invited to the first meeting of Crossroads in 2017. Even if you are not a ham yet, you will learn a lot about how communications are conducted via a "net" on ham radio, whether at a special event (e.g., parades, marathons, Boy Scout Food Drives), during a disaster or on weekly nets.  This topic is crucial for new hams and an opportunity for experienced hams to review their habits and to contribute to the discussion.

We thank the South Salt Lake Amateur Radio Team for hosting this event during their January meeting.

P.S.  If you are a Call Sign Member of SL Crossroads ARC, you received an email ballot for election of officers on December 14, 2016.  Please "Reply" to rkologytms@gmail.com no later than December 28, if you have not already voted.

P.P.S.  You can sign up as a member (whether ham or not) at the January 5 meeting --  $5 for an individual or $8 for family in the same household.  Currently, there is not an annual membership fee.  Expenses of the Club have been paid thus far by the personal generosity of various Club members--equipment, welding and other work, and installation for the repeater on 448.525 (-) tone 100; fees to the FCC for Club license (K7XRD); meeting refreshments; printing; etc.  Donations are gratefully accepted.

P.P.P.S.  We will be asking for volunteers to various committees, including taking turns occasionally as Net Control for the Thursday Crossroads Net (9:00 pm, 147.50 MHz simplex until further notice).
